In September 2015 the new revision of ISO14001, the leading international standard for designing and implementing an Environmental Management System, was released, allowing just three years for ISO14001:2004 certified companies to transfer over to the 2015 edition.
The new edition has been developed to provide a greater benefit to both companies and teh environment through environmental management and is better designed to support and combine with other ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards such as ISO 14006:2011.
Certification companies have started certifying to ISO14001:2015 since the release of the new edition, September 2015, and will stop certifying to ISO14001:2004 in September 2016; the last surveillance audit for ISO14001:2004 will be September 2018, by which time companies are required to transfer over if they are to keep the ISO14001 standard.
The new 2015 edition brings a new set of challenges with some minor and moderate changes and new additions.
The new ISO14001:2015 documents can be found on the ISO website and HalpinRobbins can provide support in, both, the transition for the new standard or help in obtaining certification. For an better idea about our projects and work see our case studies or contact us to discuss your project.
